Sanitation Engineer – Food ManufacturingPosition SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated Sanitation Engineer to lead and optimize sanitation programs within a food manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, hygiene, regulatory compliance, and environmental health while supporting production efficiency and product quality.

Key Responsibilities.

Develop, implement, and manage sanitation programs and procedures.Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, SQF, CFIA, FDA, and other food safety regulations.Design and improve cleaning and sanitizing processes for production equipment and facilities.Validate and verify sanitation effectiveness through inspections, testing, and audits.Conduct root cause investigations related to sanitation and food safety issues.Lead environmental monitoring programs and corrective actions.Work closely with Quality Assurance, Production, Maintenance, and Operations teams.Support internal, customer, and third-party food safety audits.Train sanitation employees on cleaning procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.Evaluate chemicals, sanitation equipment, and cleaning technologies.sanitation KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives.Ensure compliance with workplace health, safety, and environmental regulations.

QualificationsEducationBachelor’s Degree in:

Food Science Food Engineering Chemical Engineering Environmental EngineeringMicrobiologyIndustrial EngineeringRelated scientific or engineering discipline

Experience 3–7+ years of sanitation, food safety, quality assurance, or food manufacturing experience.Experience in food processing, meat processing, dairy, bakery, beverage, or packaged food manufacturing environments.Experience preparing facilities for CFIA, SQF, BRC, or customer audits.
