Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated Packaging Supervisor to oversee packaging operations at our manufacturing facility in Toronto, Ontario. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining quality and safety standards in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities:
Supervise Packaging Department activities in collaboration with the Packaging Manager, Shift Supervisors, and Lead Hands.
Serve as back-up Shift Supervisor or Lead Hand as needed.
Achieve packaging production targets by:
Communicating job expectations.
Planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
Coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
Enforcing company policies and procedures.
Assist in recruiting, selecting, training, and mentoring employees.
Execute the packaging production plan by:
Scheduling and assigning employees.
Monitoring progress and resolving problems.
Reporting shift production results.
Communicate schedule changes effectively.
Maintain quality control by enforcing production standards.
Ensure a safe and clean work environment by training employees on proper use of equipment and enforcing compliance with policies.
Foster a positive working relationship with union members by adhering to the collective bargaining agreement.
Resolve employee concerns by analyzing issues, identifying solutions, and recommending actions.
Complete and file production reports accurately and on time.
Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience in a similar supervisory role within a manufacturing or production environment.
Strong leadership and team management skills to effectively motivate and oversee employees.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and Food Safety regulations is an asset.
Strong verbal and written communication skills (English).
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Flexibility to work morning, afternoon, and evening shifts, including weekends if required.
Must be comfortable working in a hot environment (Bakery floor).
Shift & Compensation:
Flexible Shift: Morning, Afternoon, and Evening shifts.
Pay Rate: $25.00 – $28.00 per hour + shift premium.
